Refrain

Swing low, sweet chariot,

coming for to carry me home.

swing low, sweet chariot,

coming for to carry me home.

I looked over Jordan, and what did I see

coming for to carry me home?

A band of angels coming after me,

coming for to carry me home. O,

coming for to carry me home,

tell all my friends I'm coming too,

coming for to carry me home. O,

The brightest day that ever I saw,

Coming for to carry me home,

when Jesus washed my sins away,

Coming for to carry me home. O,

I'm sometimes up and sometimes down,

coming for to carry me home,

but still my soul feels heavenly bound,

coming for to carry me home. O,
